As a longstanding lockdown sceptic, I was delighted when Boris Johnson announced that groups of up to six people from different households will shortly be allowed to meet up. Add the fact that some children will be returning to school on Monday and high street shops will be reopening on June 15 and it’s beginning to look as if an end is in sight. Unfortunately, social distancing rules mean the economy will struggle to get out of second gear.
