The Northern Illinois commit is the third of three brothers to play for Lake Forest.

“He’s the kind of hitter you want coming up as many times as possible, and you wish he was up in every key situation,” Lake Forest coach Mike Nilles said. “The success he’s having doesn’t come automatically. “They taught me to have confidence in myself, and when things don’t go your way, you don’t just quit,” Royer said. “If you’re afraid of failure, you’re never going to succeed.”
