The growth of cloud services has not been driven in a major way by AI — so far. But that is set toThe three largest cloud service providers recently shared their results from the past quarter. Year-over-year cloud revenue growth at AWS and Microsoft was 19%; at Google Cloud, it was a whopping 29%. The three vendors combined for $65 billion in cloud revenues last quarter. Just to put that in perspective, IBM’s entire revenue in fiscal 2023 was just under $62 billion.
These four factors have been nagging IT teams for years now. Slowly but surely, IT is finally putting some of these issues behind them with cloud migrations. But, of course, their leadership always wants to know: “What’s next?”
