Foothill High’s Brandon Knight and De La Salle’s boys team made it a clean sweep at the CIF State Golf Championships for the East Bay Athletic League on Wednesday in San Gabriel.
Knight became the state’s individual champion by shooting a 5-under par 66 for a one-shot victory at San Gabriel Country Club. The Foothill senior clinched his win by sinking a birdie putt on his second to last hole. “It feels great,” Knight said in an interview with the Southern California Golf Association afterward. “I’ve been playing some pretty good golf recently. It’s awesome. Everything went right today. I made some putts and everything else was good.”
