Liverpool will have to pay £87m for Enzo Fernandez after his World Cup exploits while Newcastle are offering rather less for Memphis Depay.If Liverpool thought they could get Enzo Fernandez significantly cheaper than Jude Bellingham then that illusion was shattered when he was crowned young player of the World Cup after winning the tournament with Argentina.
It seems that Benfica can smell the money as Tuttosport claim that his price has quadrupled during the tournament so the 21-year-old – who cost them just over £10m from River Plate just a few months ago – is now commanding a fee of £87m. As his release clause is north of £100m, the Reds might actually consider this a bargain.
Word from Argentina is that Liverpool will actually offer £80m – with £20m of that fee going to River Plate – but that Benfica will not allow the deal to go through until the summer.was that Marcus Thuram was close to signing for Newcastle but on Thursday the big Toon target is Memphis Depay, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that the club will offer £17.5m for the Dutchman in January.
But unfortunately Depay knows that if he waits until the summer – when he can leave Barcelona for free – he might get a) a bigger club and b) a big signing-on fee. So it seems he might wait, even though he is way down the attacking pecking order at the Nou Camp.Conflicting reports have emerged in relation to Lionel Messi and his future at Ligue 1 giants PSG amid reports linking him with MLS side Inter Miami.
