The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will wrap up July payments in Delaware, worth up to $1,691, on Sunday.

The First State is unique for having one of the longest windows for issuing payments in the United States, taking up over three-quarters of the month. The first letter of a recipient's last name determines on which of the 22 days they will receive their payment. The final payments of the month will be sent out on Sunday.SNAP payments begin distribution on the second day of each month.

Like most other states, the funds are loaded onto an EBT card. The card can be used like a credit card, but it is only for food and nonalcoholic drinks. Those who don't spend their entire amount need not worry, as the funds given each month will hold over into the next. The funds will remain on the card without expiring as long as the card remains in regular use.
