Her twin sister and business partner, Sarah Simms Hendrix, announced the news on Instagram, sharing that Simms was a 'magic maker' and 'brightest light.' Simms is survived by her husband and two daughters.

Rebecca Wylie Simms, a food and lifestyle influencer who co-owned the trendy Los Angeles cheese shop Lady & Larder with her twin sister, Sarah Simms Hendrix, has died. Simms passed away at age 39 after suffering 'a tragic surgery complication,” Simms Hendrix announced Jan. 19 on Lady & Larder's official Instagram account. 'This loss is immeasurable, and our hearts are completely shattered,' Simms Hendrix wrote alongside a photo of her late sister, whose nickname was Boo.

Simms' tragic death comes just weeks after she kicked off 2025 with a positive 'toast.' Next to photos and videos she posted of her daughters celebrating the new year on the shore of a chilly beach, she wrote, “My toast for 2025: may we remember to wake up and dance. Listen more. Linger longer. Make gratitude our aesthetic. Go hard on the problem and soft on the person. Pick up the phone. Get our hands dirty. Mail more letters. Buy the hat. Sing louder. Surrender to the surprises.
