More medical services are coming to Foley and South Baldwin County. Plans are moving forward for a new medical park in the city's medical overlay district, which was created in 2023. Earlier this week, the city council voted to rezone a 9-acre parcel near the intersection of Highway 59 and east Peachtree Avenue for a new professional office space.
Hellmich says this would be the second medical park in the city's overlay district. Last month, Baldwin Health, formerly known as South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, unveiled a new patient tower which Hellmich says has garnered a lot of interest in more professional office space in the area. Not only could this medical park attract specialty doctors but also businesses and more residents who do not want to travel far for services. Hellmich says Foley is a large retirement community and the average age of residents is 53.1.
