Watch Floyd Mayweather’s passionate defence of Mike Tyson on live US TV
Floyd Mayweather spoke out in defence of Mike Tyson during a live US TV interview in 2013, despite the pair having their differences over the years.
At the time, Tyson had recently given an interview in which he said he feared for the future of boxing and suggested: "Well, I commend Tyson because he's one of the guys that paved the way for me to be where I'm at. Regarding Tyson's concern that the rise of MMA could threaten boxing, Mayweather added: "Boxing will live on."I have my own style and what I made cool about boxing is not taking punishment."This feud supposedly stemmed from a police raid back in 2001 – a time when they were both two of the biggest names in the boxing world, with Tyson more prominent than Mayweather.
In his book, Tyson said a friend told him the alleged victim had also been dating ‘another prominent boxer.’
