The Max streaming date for the Oscar-nominated Latvian animated fantasy movie Flow has been revealed for later this month.
has been announced nine months after it premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. It is currently nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards.Flow will be available for streaming starting on Friday, February 14, exclusively on Max.
This will then be followed by its broadcast debut on HBO on Saturday, February 15. Since its release, the film has received a Certified Fresh rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 125 reviews. The film was directed by award-winning filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis , who co-wrote the screenplay with Matīss Kaža. It is produced by Kaža, Zilbalodis, Ron Dyens, and Gregory Zalcman. Last month, it successfully won a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film, beating fan-favorites movies like Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot. “A wondrous journey, through realms natural and mystical, the film follows a courageous cat after his home is devastated by a great flood. Teaming up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land, they must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet,” reads the official synopsis. “The film is a thrilling animated spectacle and profound meditation on the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community.
