" A spokesperson for the company said Friday that the strategy for the time being remains focused on bolstering Flos B&B Italia’s galaxy of brands, which is anchored in heritage Italian companies like furniture brands B&B Italia and Maxalto, kitchen-maker Arclinea and Flos in lighting. In 2025, Fitch Ratings downgraded Flos B&B Italia to a negative rating from stable, on the assumption that the firm would be hit by weaker consumer demand in the U.S. and EU markets over the course of 2025 and 2026.

Flos’ debt maturity profile improved after its refinancing in December 2024, it said, when it extended the maturity of one of its loans with a floating rate to 2029. A major loan of 383 million euros of senior secured notes is due in November 2028.

As of 2025, the firm booked 847 million euros in sales, which was better than 2024 when it booked 748 million euros, but still lower than the peak in 2023 of sales of 898.6 million euros. On Thursday, Flos B&B Italia revealed that it had sold Louis Poulsen to Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, a Danish foundation-owned investment company with a history that dates back to 1750. Chr.

Augustinus Fabrikker has investments in several Danish companies with a total balance sheet of more than 35 billion Danish krona, or 4.68 billion euros.

“Our strategy consists in fully exploiting the potential of each of our brands, creating the best conditions for their growth,” declared Piero Gandini, executive chairman of Flos B&B Italia, Italy’s largest luxury furnishings group, in a statement. After Gandini stepped into his new role, he said the strategy was for each brand to be sold asset by asset. In 2025, Gandini hinted that investors might want to buy Louis Poulsen alongside Copenhagen-based Audo Copenhagen.

It remains to be seen what will happen toLouis Poulsen, founded in Copenhagen in 1874, is one of the most recognizable lighting firms in the world. Popular in the U.S. and Japanese markets, it is famous for its modernists lamps like the PH and the Artichoke, designed by Poul Henningsen.
