The woman admitted she made up the assault after a friend allegedly killed another man in self-defense while trying to obtain his photo for police after she stated he sounded like her attacker.
A Florida woman's false report of a sexual assault reportedly resulted in the death of a Florida man who attempted to take a photo of her alleged attacker.
The arrest affidavit for Sorey states that she previously said a Hispanic male had broken into her apartment and"battered her and vaginally penetrated her with a broken broom handle and a box cutter." When police again interviewed Sorey, she maintained the story. The date for the initial report and the follow-up interview are unknown.
While talking to the friend, who remains unidentified, Sorey stated that the male at the door sounded like the man who had sexually assaulted her. Afterward, the friend left the apartment intending to take a photograph of the man to provide it to police, the affidavit says.
