The arrangement allows Norment to avoid formally admitting guilt, while accepting that the pleas are in his best interest, The disgraced educator taught at Independence Middle School in Jupiter for six years before his arrest in May. Now an 18-year-old college student, the woman said Norment groomed her while she was still attending the middle school and that she later returned to visit him after entering high school.
The victim alleged she had sex with Norment in his classroom closet at Independence Middle School in Jupiter, Florida.Norment’s accuser filed a civil suit against the Palm Beach County District last month, asserting administrators “enabled” a prior history of predatory behavior with female students.
