Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody accused U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services , a DHS agency, of denying the Florida Department of State’s request to verify citizenship status for several people registered to vote. A USCIS official told the Florida state department that SAVE is the only way for states to verify immigration and citizenship statuses, according to the lawsuit. USCIS also allegedly denied Florida’s request for more information about the registered voters in question.
