Florida State University's football team strengthens its defensive line with the addition of Deamontae Diggs, a transfer from Coastal Carolina University.
Florida State has bolstered its defensive line through the NCAA Transfer Portal. Deamontae Diggs , a defensive end from Coastal Carolina , announced his commitment to the Seminoles. Diggs visited the campus and met with the coaching staff before making his decision. In his final season at Coastal Carolina , Diggs appeared in 13 games, earning seven starts. He recorded 34 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and two pass deflections.
His best performance came against Marshall, where he tallied seven tackles and one tackle for loss.Diggs began his college career at Youngstown State in the FCS before transitioning to the FBS level. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound defender has one season of eligibility remaining. He chose Florida State over several other programs, including Kansas, Purdue, UNLV, and James Madison. Diggs is ranked as the No. 301 overall transfer and No. 27 DL transfer by 247Sports.Florida State currently has two scholarship defensive ends eligible to return in 2025, Jaden Jones and Aaron Hester. They also signed several defensive line prospects during the Early Signing Period, including four-star talents LaJesse Harrold and Tylon Lee. The Seminoles recently landed James Williams from Nebraska and Deante McCray from Western Kentucky through the transfer portal
