Former Florida State defensive end DD Holmes has announced his transfer to Maryland, returning closer to his hometown of Washington, D.C. Holmes redshirted his lone season with the Seminoles, appearing in one game and recording one tackle. He joins a Maryland program that went 4-8 last season.
The most recent member of Florida State's roster to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal has found a new home.
Holmes spent just one season in Tallahassee, redshirting while appearing in one game last fall. He recorded one tackle in FSU's victory against Charleston Southern in November. He signed with the Seminoles as a four-star prospect in the 2024 class, choosing the program over Maryland. The Seminoles have two scholarship defensive ends eligible to return in 2025; redshirt senior Jaden Jones, and redshirt junior Aaron Hester.
