Closer to home -- Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons says they’ve also seen an uptick in school threats -- so far they’ve investigated 20 actionable threats this school year -- meaning they had to deploy manpower to respond and investigate. While none were credible -- they’ve made arrests -- including three in the last week.
Meanwhile, in Volusia County -- students and parents have been warned. This investigation costing more than $21,000. Sheriff Chitwood says that tab will also be passed along.
