Police said Rosa Alcides Rivera stabbed her daughter Aleyda days before she was due to turn 12.

A mother in Florida has been charged with murder over the stabbing of her 11-year-old daughter, according to officials.

The 28-year-old demanded someone at the facility at 83 W. Miller Street assist her daughter, Fox35 reported citing police. Lt. Diego Toruno, a spokesperson for Orange County Sheriff’s Office, told ABC affiliate WFTV9:"Security advised a white female drove up to the valet area [and] was argumentative and asking for medical assistance for a female passenger.Toruno told the Orlando Sentinel that Rivera then “became combative and produced a knife.”As police escorted a wide-eyed Rosa from the Sheriff Office into a police cruiser, she was filmed by WFTV as saying:"I thought I was going to jail.

Footage shot by Fox 35 showed the entrance of the hospital covered in police tape, as it was treated as a crime scene. The hospital was locked down until midday, Click Orlando reported.
