Police in Winter Park, Florida, say Daniel Knight had become very drunk and violent during the wedding. Family members are disputing the police account.
, officers were called to the reception at 9:30 p.m. Sunday and told the man, Daniel Knight, 39, was assaulting guests, grabbing people around the neck and pushing others to the floor. Knight reportedly was shirtless and “very drunk,” police were told.
The second officer was knocked to the ground. As Knight again advanced, the second officer shot Knight, according to WESH. Knight, who was not armed, was taken to a hospital but died of his wounds.
