Corey Vaughn Dacres, 25, was arrested Sunday after killing his family’s beloved pit bull terrier named Unity at the San Tropez apartment complex pool in Pembroke Pines, officials said.
After hopping the 5-foot fence, Dacres proceeded to shove Unity underwater, holding the pit bull thereHe then returned home to tell his family what he had just done, prompting them to call police. Dacres was charged with a felony count of aggravated animal cruelty and transported to Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail Bureau in Fort Lauderdale.
