“Members we are expanding the list today to send a clear message that the state of Florida is not in the business of funding terrorism,” said State Representative John Snyder. “Of the companies that are currently on the list, when it comes to Iran all of those are tied specifically to the petroleum sector. What we’re doing today is expanding that to include all sectors of the Iranian economy,” said Rep. Snyder.Representative Snyder said the goal is to disrupt the Iranian economy, but admitted it’s not clear how many more companies will be impacted by these changes.

Once the state compiles that list, those businesses in violation will have 90 days to comply and cease operations tied to Iran.
