Seven out of 10 Florida voters say they trust Biden more than Sanders to handle a major crisis, six in 10 in Illinois and Ohio, according to Edison Research exit polls. Live updates:

Voters in three states were met by gloved poll workers and hand sanitizer as they cast ballots under the threat of the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday, as Joe Biden looked to bolster his dominant lead in the Democratic U.S. presidential race.Adrian Fontes, the Maricopa County Recorder in Arizona, said turnout has been slightly lower than expected. Early voting was more than 100,000 ballots higher this year over 2016, he noted.

The Biden campaign expects to see turnout in Arizona and Florida on pace with levels in 2016 and turnout in Illinois to be roughly on pace with what was seen in 2018. In a memo, Biden’s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield said voter turnout for all three states would likely reflect the broader population following record-high early voting, citing data from the Democratic National Committee and other sources.

Young said some Illinois election judges were frustrated by a lack to access to cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer at polling locations, but that there were indications that those issues were getting sorted out.In Florida, some volunteer poll workers did not show up to work today despite being willing as recently as yesterday.
