Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has called for a special legislative session starting January 27th to quickly implement the hard-line immigration policies of President-elect Donald Trump. DeSantis plans to provide funding and additional duties to local and state officials to assist in enforcing federal immigration laws. He also stated his willingness to suspend officials who refuse to comply and is considering activating the Florida National Guard and State Guard for law enforcement duties. Governor DeSantis also called for legislative action on hurricane assistance and reforms to the state's real estate market.
