Ron DeSantis is heading to Houston next month to headline the Harris County Republican Party’s annual fundraising dinner.
The March 3 event will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, with tickets starting at $250,DeSantis is also slated to appear at a fundraiser in Dallas County the day after, according to The Texas Tribune,“Alongside Texas, Florida is one of the nation’s most prosperous and free states thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis’ leadership,” Harris County Republican Party Chair Cindy Siegel said in a statement.
DeSantis was re-elected to a second four-year term as Florida governor in November. He is said to be considering a run for president in 2024, which would pit him against former president Donald Trump, who announced his candidacy shortly after the November midterms. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has also been floated as a potential 2024 candidate, though he has not revealed any plans to run.
