A statement released by the Board said that “the Florida Department of Education has effectively banned AP Psychology in the state by instructing Florida superintendents that teaching foundational content on sexual orientation and gender identity is illegal under state law.”
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The College Board announced on Thursday that AP Psychology courses have been banned across the state.
In response, the College Board did not believe it was possible to continue teaching these courses given the ban. “Our policy remains unchanged. Any course that censors required course content cannot be labeled “AP” or “Advanced Placement”, and the “AP Psychology” designation cannot be utilized on student transcripts,” the College Board said in their most recent statement.According to the College Board, more than 28,000 Florida students took AP Psychology last year.
