Podcast: eMerge Americas' Gorordo on the state of Florida technology
The eMerge Americas conference had attracted more than 16,000 attendees from 400 companies and 40 countries in 2018. But the Covid-19 pandemic meant canceling the live conferences for 2020 and 2021. What was that like?It was one of the most challenging things I've ever had to do and that my team had to do. We were three weeks away from producing our annual conference.
So, we decided to take Miami Tech Week to the next level by kicking off Tech Week with the eMerge conference. Then things just started picking up like wildfire and we started getting so much inbound interest from folks that wanted to build on that momentum that we quickly realized this was not a Tech Week, this was a multi-week program. So … we decided to expand Miami Tech Week into Miami Tech Month.
