actor presented a step-by-step run-through of how to make the best marmite on toast with a side of sarcastic commentary.Dressed in a simple striped sundress, Pugh started by slicing an “amazing bit of bread.” With a thick-crusted piece of sourdough in hand, the actor then explained that the “hardest bit” is the patience required watching the bread brown in the toaster. She filled the time by making herself “another Buck’s Fizz”.
And then came the Marmite. “Because I’m a Brit, I’m obviously going to use some Marmite,” she said to the camera while holding up the spread. “People have the wrong idea about Marmite. I personally don’t like it thick. It’s not like a thick Nutella spread. It’s a seasoning, essentially,” she explained of the “hate it or love it” condiment.
“You’re basically just going to do like a spider’s web – that’s what I was taught when I was younger,” she said of her technique. “If you like lots of Marmite, then go crazy, kids. But for the newbies, just a slight spread.” LikeMore from British Vogue:
