PETALING JAYA: The flood situation in Johor is getting worse with many victims sending out"SOS" messages, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Ayer Hitam MP said he had been receiving updates from Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tiang Soon and Bekok assemblyman Tan Chong while attending Parliament on Wednesday . "I have been coordinating relief efforts with them. We have received many SOS messages from those who need help leaving their flooded homes, especially from those in Chaah in Labis, which neighbours the Ayer Hitam constituency," the MCA president said in a Facebook post.
Dr Wee added many roads were now inaccessible and this was making relief efforts such as sending food and aid to victims much more difficult. "In my constituency, five relief centres have been opened for more than 1,000 evacuees from hundreds of families.
