JOHOR BARU: The flood situation in Segamat is increasingly worrying as the number of victims have surpassed the 10,000 mark, bringing the total in Johor to 28,486.
The latest figures were recorded at 8pm Thursday , compared to 28,099 four hours earlier at 4pm, said the Johor disaster management committee.Segamat has 10,395 flood evacuees seeking relief at 70 PPS, with the SK Seri Bali PPS alone sheltering 2,437 victims.
Other districts like Tangkak, Kota Tinggi, Muar and Mersing are also seeing an increase in the figures. The number of flood evacuees in the other flood-hit districts are Kluang , Batu Pahat , Kota Tinggi , Muar , Tangkak , Johor Baru , Kulai , Mersing and Pontian . Those affected by floods are urged to contact the Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 for assistance.
