Flooding in backyards raises concerns for Enterprise home owners.
Many believe the issues are due to poor drainage between subdivisions, and those homeowners are calling on the city to help.“This is our forever home,” said Crystal Roen. “When my husband deployed for the year, it was to settle us, so we don’t have to move around.”“Being in the Navy 26 years, my parents were getting older,” said Flowers. “I wanted to come back to be around my family.”“The fall of 2019, we had I think a hurricane come through here and it was really flooded,” said Roen.
“We can’t use our yard, we have almost a half-acre back here that we can’t use,” said Roen. “Our fence is completely rotted.”“It’s like a nightmare,” said Flowers. “My deck got so rotten I had to go find contractors. I’ve come out of my pocket way too much money just to try and make my property a home.”“When it first came over the deck, that’s what scared me,” said Flowers.
