The heaviest rain is expected Saturday morning before the storm rapidly exits in the afternoon.

Rain is set to arrive in the D.C. region Friday night and could become quite heavy between the pre-dawn and morning hours Saturday. Much of the immediate area could see at least 2 inches before the storm moves off Saturday afternoon.

Sunday should be salvageable for outdoor plans as sunshine returns. But, by then, many of the blossoms may be on the ground because of Saturday’s rain and wind.1 to 5 p.m.:
