The flood warning for the Mendenhall Lake and River remains in effect through Tuesday morning
JUNEAU , Alaska - Another glacier-dammed lake outburst is expected, following a record-breaking flooding event that occurred earlier in August. An update is expected at 1 p.m. Monday from the City and Borough of Juneau , along with representatives from Tlingit & Haida and the National Weather Service.

According to theA flood warning remains in effect for Mendenhall Lake and River until 6pm Tuesday.A forecast crest between 11 and 12 feet is expected sometime between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Tuesday. According to the NWS, water levels will rise above minor flood stage from 6 p.m. Monday to 12 a.m. Tuesday, with water levels topping out above moderate flood stage between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday. Historical flooding events in Mendenhall Valley show that at around 11.5 feet, the low section of road past 9374 View Drive will begin to flood, with water also approaching some homes towards the end of the road.
