The flight landed safely and there was never any loss of cabin pressure, United Airlines said in a statement.
A United Airlines flight bound for Rome returned to Newark Liberty International Airport shortly after midnight on Thursday after the crew reported a possible cabin pressurization issue, officials said.
Flight 510, a a Boeing 77, landed safely at 12:25 a.m. after departing shortly at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday. After the possible issue was checked, there was never any loss of cabin pressure, United Airlines said in a statement.from 37,000 feet at 10:07 p.m. to just below 9,000 feetPilots are trained to make controlled descents to below 12,000 feet if there’s a pressurization issue because below that altitude does not require supplemental oxygen, officials said.
United said it arranged for another aircraft to take the 270 customers and 14 crew members aboard the first flight to their destination.
