A stabbing in the Flatiron District on Friday morning left a man critically injured, and another in police custody for further questioning, law enforcement sources said.

Police reported that the bloody assault occurred at about 8:13 a.m. on June 9 at the corner of West 29th Street and 7th Avenue., upon arriving at the scene, found the male victim, age unknown, at the scene with multiple stab wounds about his chest. EMS rushed the man to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition; he died there a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.
