Two adults were transported to the hospital and a 4-year-old died after a car got stuck in swift water Sunday.
JOHNSON COUNTY, Texas — A vehicle stuck in swift water led to a fatality off County Road 528 in Burleson, Johnson County officials said Sunday. received a 911 call at 1:55 a.m. Sunday morning. The caller witnessed three occupants, an adult male, female and 4-year-old boy, exit their vehicle in an attempt to reach dry ground on foot. The occupants were then swept by the high rushing water, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
The two adults were rescued by deputies responding to the call, transported to a local hospital and later released. The 4-year-old victim, later identified as Lucas Warren, was not with either parent but after hours of searching was found deceased in the water east of where the family was swept away.
Johnson County Sheriff's deputies, fire department personnel and a Johnson County Emergency Management official responded to the incident.
