A flash flood warning has been issued for six Ohio counties Thursday night.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Geauga, Portage, Summit, Holmes, Medina and Wayne counties due to heavy rain in the area.
Holmes County, Medina County and Wayne County are all under a flash flood warning until 2 a.m. Friday, per the NWS. “Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas,” the NWS wrote in their alert. The City of Barberton has issued an alert advising residents to avoid driving due to heavy flooding and road closures.
