Five years after Aniah Blanchard was kidnapped and killed, her family continues to wait for justice.
Aniah’s family and friends lit candles and remembered her Wednesday at a vigil in Homewood . They say Aniah was the definition of joy. It comes five years after police say Blanchard was abducted and killed. After a lengthy search, her remains were found in the woods in Macon County.
Aniah’s family says they don’t want anyone to forget how she lived and they are doing everything they can to make sure her killer is finally brought to justice. “I was just lead here tonight just because I need to be more vocal. With her not having justice yet, I want to get the word out for us to try and figure out some resolution and figure out what to my daughter,” Elijah Blanchard, Aniah’s dad said.
