DAVID MUNDEE Rehobeth, Dale County, Wicksburg, Pike Liberal Arts and Kinston all won AHSAA area softball titles on Tuesday. Rehobeth won the Class 6A, Area 3 Tournament at Pike Road and Dale County won the Class 4A, Area 3 Tournament at Midland City, while Wicksburg won the Class 3A, Area 2 title at home, Pike Liberal Arts took the 2A, Area 4 crown at home and Kinston won the Class 1A, Area 2 tourney at home.

Class 6A, Area 3Rehobeth 4, Pike Road 2Alex Cobb allowed only two runs and six hits over seven innings with two strikeouts and one walk for Rehobeth. Whitman and Madyson McLain both had an RBI sacrifice fly, AK Snellgrove an RBI single and A Woods an RBI groundout.Ashford 10, Dale County 4Ashford won its third straight game after losing its tournament opener, taking a 10-4 victory over Dale County to force a second championship game late Tuesday night. Ashford’s Baylee Brock pitched a three-hit shutout through six innings before the Warriors racked up four runs and five hits in the seventh inning. Offensively, all nine Ashford batters had a hit with Blakely Smith the lone player with multiple hits. Smith had two hits and drove in one run. Brock and Bailee Bertsch both had a hit and drove two runs. Dale County finished with eight hits with Bre Wilkerson, Allie Buckelew and Madyson McLain with two hits each and both McLain and Leah Grace Snellgrove had a two-run single. Ashford 4, Geneva 3Jalissiah Jackson belted a solo homer with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Ashford a walk-off 4-3 win over Geneva to advance to the championship round and eliminate Geneva. Carsyn McArdle had three hits and Catie Kelley two hits with one RBI for Ashford. Jackson and Olivia Dodson both had one hit and one RBI. Baylee Brock was the winning pitcher, working four shutout innings of relief and allowing one hit. She struck out two. For Geneva, Ansley Adams had a run-scoring single, Kaden Ward an RBI sacrifice fly and Aubree Lamb an RBI ground out. Dale County 6, Geneva 4Dale County advanced to the area tournament finals with a 6-4 winners’ bracket win over Geneva. Shayleigh Whitman struck out 10 and allowed four runs, only one earned, and four hits in a seven-inning complete game performance. Bre Wilkerson had two hits for Dale County, while Whitman had a hit and two RBI and both Leah Grace Snellgrove and AK Snellgrove had a hit and an RBI. Kiersten Lewis and Kaden Ward both had two singles for the four Geneva hits. Lewis had two runs batted in. Geneva 7, Ashford 4Geneva rallied from a 4-0 second-inning deficit with seven runs in the last four innings to beat the Yellow Jackets in an opening round game. Ansley Adams was 4-for-4 with a run batted in and four players, Kiersten Lewis, Kaden Ward, Isabelle Padgett and Baylee Conner, had two hits each with Lewis driving in two runs and Ward and Conner one each. Adams earned the pitching win, entering in relief in the first inning and allowing just a run and six hits over seven innings. She struck out eight and walked four. For Ashford, Bailee Bertsch was 3-for-3, Olivia Dodson was 2-for-2 and Jalissiah Jackson had a two-run single. Dale County 15, Daleville 0Dale County scored 10 runs in the second inning to help win the opening round game in three innings. AK Snellgrove had two hits and drove in four runs and Shayleigh Whitman had two doubles with three RBI to lead the Warriors. Bre Wilkerson also had two hits and Mah-Xariah Andrews had a hit and drove in three runs. Madyson McClain and Emma Dykes had an RBI each for Dale County. McClain and Montana Barefield combined on a three-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts. McLain struck out seven over 2 2/3 innings and Barefield got the final out on a strikeout. Barefield walked two.Baylee Brock, Blakely Smith and Bailee Bertsch all had two hits with one run batted in. Carsyn McArdle and Briana Smith both had a hit and an RBI.Class 3A, Area 2Wicksburg 11, Providence Christian 0Natalie Cole pitched a five-inning, one-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks and the Panthers had 12 hits over four innings in taking the championship win over Providence. Both Wicksburg and Providence Christian advance to the South Regional Tournament in Gulf Shores next Tuesday. Ella Grace Kelley was 3-for-4 with one run batted in and Dahlia Ganz, Tylaya Lingo and Sarah Turvin all had two hits with Turvin driving in two runs. Ellie Cox and Chloe Joyner both had a hit and two RBI and Anleigh Wood had a hit and an RBI.Providence Christian 12, Slocomb 2Ella Duke and Emma Duke both had two hits with one run batted in and Maddie Norris and Kaitlyn Russ both had a hit with two RBI. Carlee Smith and Alyse Deer had one hit and one RBI. For Slocomb, Molly McGowan had two hits, one a double, and Anna Ray had a double and both players had one RBI. Class 2A, Area 4Pike Liberal Arts 3-4, Zion Chapel 10-0Pike Liberal Arts won a second championship game over Zion Chapel, taking a 3-0 victory over the Rebels, who forced a second contest with a 10-4 win. In the finale, Pike Liberal Arts’ Alissa Barron pitched a three-hit shutout with three strikeouts and three walks. Camryn Brown had two hits and both Shelly Stephens and Mary Holland Stephens had a hit and an RBI for Pike Lib.In the first game, Zion Chapel scored eight runs in the third inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and spark a 10-4 win. Shea Wambles went 4-for-4 and Landry Hataway had three hits and an RBI to lead Zion Chapel. Kaylee Hodge and Sydney Boothe both had two hits with Hodge driving in a run. Riley Bannin added a hit and two RBI. Both Alyssa Forehand and Rhodes had one hit and one RBI. Boothe was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs, only two earned, and seven hits over seven innings. She struck out two. Haylie Brown and Camryn Brown had two hits each for Pike Liberal Arts with Haylie Brown with one RBI. Allie Booth and Sarah Strickland both had one hit and one RBI. Zion Chapel 8, Luverne 3Zion Chapel seized a 7-0 lead by the fourth inning and held on for an 8-3 win. Riley Bannin pitched six innings, scattering seven hits and giving up three runs, with only two runs earned. She struck out four. Sydney Boothe pitched the final inning, allowing no hits or runs. Kaylee Hodge and Emily Rhodes both had two hits and Landry Hataway and Boothe both had a hit and an RBI. Bannin and Aubrey Bassett both drove in one run. Class 1A, Area 2Kinston 19, Florala 0Brynne Kelley and Maddie Williamson both had three hits with Williamson hitting a homer and driving in two runs and Kelley bringing home four runs to lead Kinston, which won the Class 1A, Area 2 tournament.Allyx Williamson and Aubrey Norris both had two hits and two runs batted in and Madisyn Jones, Lauren Norris and Lilli Sumblin all had a hit and two RBI. Sumblin pitched two innings and Lauren Norris worked one inning with both striking out two and allowing one hit.
