It’s been a year of churn for the city’s Italian scene, with two high-profile closings and a 40% turnover in my new ranking of San Antonio ’s Top 10 Italian restaurants. But the energy generated by that list radiates beyond just 10. So here are five more Italian restaurants that fought the good fight for a place on that Top 10 list, the ones joining the upwardly mobile ranks of our Tied for 11th series.
com ARRIVEDERCI: Top 10 Italian restaurant Arrosta closes at Pearl Capparelli’s on Main Capparelli’s is on the short list of names San Antonians associate with Italian food, and it made the news this month when the location on Thousand Oaks Drive closed. The name carries on at other locations around town, most notably the family-owned flagship on North Main Avenue in the Monte Vista neighborhood.
