Training will take place in the early hours of the morning
A five-day military exercise begins at Glasgow Prestwick Airport today.
The local community has been advised that up to eight helicopters, including Chinook, Merlin and Wildcat will be used to carry out training in the early hours of the morning from July 18 to 22. The airport says that aircraft routing has been planned 'to minimise disruption as far as possible' and has asked for the continued support of nearby residents.
Hundreds have since commented on Glasgow Prestwick Airport's social media announcement with mixed reactions to the news.Another joked:"You’re gonna need your ear defenders."
