Five males were arrested
Five people have been arrested after a string of mobile phone robberies at the Cornerhouse in Nottingham. A group of males threatened a 21-year-old outside the Cornerhouse at around 2am on Tuesday, September 26 before taking his iPhone.
Two similar incidents were reported at around 3.30am. A 20-year-old man reported having his phone stolen after being approached by a group in Shakespeare Street, while two 18-year-olds were robbed of their mobile phones in Talbot Street. A description of the group was provided to officers and five suspects, aged between 17 and 21, were detained a short time later. The suspects remain in custody for questioning.Detective Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “No-one should be threatened in the street, or have their belongings taken from them like this and I’d like to assure the victims we are doing everything we can to bring the offenders to justice.
