Anyone who actively uses a Fitbit tracker has likely long since moved over to a Google account, given how pro-active Google has been in nudging its audience to do so. New Fitbit users have had to employ a Google account since 2023, for example. However, if you once owned a Fitbit but have switched brands and might consider switching back in the future, it may be a good idea to act now to avoid losing your old data.This all stems from Google’s acquisition of Fitbit, which was completed in January 2021 in a $2.1 billion deal. Since then the company has had relatively few hardware releases. Its once-popular Versa and Sense lines were updated the year after the acquisition in September 2022, but there’s no sign of any new hardware in this smartwatch vein.kids’ watch from 2024.
