The City of Boerne said they are withholding the man's name until his next of kin is notified.

Authorities on Sunday recovered the body of a man who drowned in Boerne City Lake over the weekend. Calls about the drowning came in around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, according to Chris Shadrock , City of Boerne's director of communications. According to a preliminary investigation, authorities believe the man spent Saturday afternoon fishing at the lake and went into the water to cool off. The man was unaware of the lakes's elevation changes and reached an area with deep water.
