The owner, Anthony Lucchini, claims the store has struggled to make payments for months despite making several attempts to catch up. PSEG Long Island confirmed the termination of service, stating that they had communicated with the store multiple times regarding the past due amounts. The store was selling off its remaining animals as of Sunday afternoon, with Lucchini hoping to reopen eventually.

Lucchini added he and his staff scrambled to find generators to keep the fish alive long enough to be sold.“That week alone they got three payments for the account. They still came and shut us off on Friday. And we’re not talking about 50 bucks we’re talking thousands of dollars here," Lucchini said."PSEG Long Island has communicated with Caribbean Blue Aquatics several times over the past several months regarding past due amounts at this location.
