The 265,824 Ohio customers of FirstEnergy reported without power Thursday morning included 175,452 in Cuyahoga County.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - A third of FirstEnergy’s customers in Cuyahoga County are still without power Thursday, two days after strong storms and tornadoes swept through the area, and the company is saying some people may not be restored until the middle of next week.
Large swaths of Cuyahoga County remained affected. Cleveland had the highest number of customers without power, at 55,639, or 55% of FirstEnergy’s customers in the city, followed by Lakewood with 20,262 customers, or 74% of the city. The most people affected in Geauga County are in Chester Township, where 4,725 customers did not have power, or 97% of the township. Other Geauga County places with more than half of customers without power included Auburn Township, Burton, Burton Township, Chardon, Chardon Township, Hambden Township, Huntsburg Township, Montville Township, Munson Township, Newbury Township and Troy Township.
