The Peterborough Diocese 's first woman Bishop is being installed. The Right Reverend Debbie Sellin will be welcomed to her new Diocese as its 39th bishop in a service at Peterborough Cathedral. The 59-year-old will lead the Anglican communities across Northamptonshire , Rutland and Peterborough. She was previously acting as Bishop of Southampton following the sudden retirement of the previous incumbent, the Right Reverend Tim Dakin.
Right Revd Debbie Sellin will be installed as Bishop of Peterborough in a ceremony at Peterborough Cathedral Debbie Sellin was born in Scotland where her father was an ordained minister and the family lived in the rectory. Her first career was as a manager in the National Health Service, and she then moved to Sheffield where she became a church children and families worker. In 2004, she began training to be a priest and became a deacon three years later, followed by ordination to the priesthood in 2007. After serving at a church in Guildford, she became Vicar of the London commuter belt village of Woners
