Two skiers caused an avalanche at the Silverton Mountain ski resort on Sunday after the “first notable snowfall of the season,” according to state officials.
The founders of the Silverton ski area, a no-frills ski featuring hike-to backcountry skiing and snowboarding, sold the operation to Heli, a company that maintains an online marketplace for booking adventure travel.
