A vigil has been held for a woman who was swept away in severe floods as she tried to rescue her dog.

A specialist dive and marine unit has been drafted in to assist with the searches.Local people were able to come together to pray and light a candle for the pensioner.

Monymusk Parish Church posted on Facebook: ‘Thank you to all who came to our candlelight vigil tonight offering Hope for Hazel.‘The community turned out in force showing great love of Hazel and her family.’Rivers had burst their banks and roads became impassable due to the scale of the downpours.
