The couple's death was described by one friend as a 'huge loss to our community'
Merseyside Police confirmed the news on Sunday, August 27, that a man and woman had died after becoming trapped in a black Mercedes in deep flood water on Queens Drive in Mossley Hill. Police were called to the area at around 9.20pm on Saturday after reports of a concern for the safety of a man and a woman.
Debbie Mills said: "Terribly, terribly sad reading this, it's been flooding for years. Absolutely horrific for the two people who have sadly lost their lives, just awful." Viv Sinnott said: "Dreadfully sad. RIP. Thinking of their family and friends. What a devastating time for them."Joanna Pennington said: "How heartbreaking. My condolences to all affected by this tragedy."
