Jihaad Campbell’s end-zone interception helps Philadelphia hold on for a victory over Tampa Bay.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell celebrates after intercepting a pass during an NFL game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
With Baker Mayfield scrambling on a first-and-10 snap at the Philadelphia 11-yard line, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback tried to make something happen with a throw into the front corner of the end zone. But Campbell came down with the football instead of tight end Cade Otton or wide receiver Chris Godwin, the Tampa Bay players closest to the throw. Campbell’s interception came with the Eagles clinging to a 31-23 lead with 7:48 left to play. Philadelphia had a 24-3 lead in the second quarter, but the Eagles offense scuffled in the second half, opening the way for a Tampa Bay comeback in the game between 3-0 teams. The Eagles ended up with a 31-25 victory, yielding an intentional safety to run out the game’s final six seconds, after Philadelphia stopped the Buccaneers on a fourth-down snap at the Eagles 37-yard line with 57 seconds remaining.Campbell got his first interception in his fourth NFL game. The 31st selection in the NFL Draft on April 25, Campbell has started every game as a rookie and entered Sunday’s game having played 95 percent of Philadelphia’s defensive snaps. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
